Principally designed to print directly onto PP
& PE caps and closures, the TAMPOflex "BIG WHEEL攕ystem satisfies
the need for high speed, low cost production of such items. The
rotary print heads feature an environmentally friendly closed inkwell
system, together with easily accessible clich?drum and roller pad
designed for ease of service and maintenance. Intended to be
integrated into fully automated production lines, the dual stream
machine takes a continuous feed from product orientation
equipment via two lanes to the periphery of the rotary carrier where
it is loaded and retained on a precision tooling system. Print heads
transfer images from the clich閟 drum via a rotary pad at a tangent to
the product surface. Exact synchronization in perfect registration
is ensured by direct drive of the print heads from a master gear
wheel driving all the moving components. The synchronized print
heads have individual fine adjustment, controlled to produce continuous
and repeatable accuracy of print transfer. Take off mechanisms are
arranged to release and remove the printed items, re-orientate and
advance to down stream drying and packaging stations. Owing to the
precision which is required of this system, clich?drums are etched
using an especially accurate process of film handling utilizing
optical positioning to guarantee absolute accuracy of
registration.
